Knitting and Reading

I am working on another Plain Vest for Emmy in beautiful shades of pinks and another bonnet from Vintage Knits for Modern Babies in a thicker wool than her alpaca bonnet to keep her warm as the temperatures begin to drop.

I would love to dress her in one of these vests with a long sleeve tshirt and leggings nearly everyday this winter.

I haven't started a new book yet, but am instead attempting to reduce clutter by going through the books we have and the magazine piles.   I am sure there are many more ideas than I could ever get to in one lifetime.

Joining in with Ginny and all the others today and looking forward to hearing about what you are reading and knitting.

  1. I love the yarn you are using for your new knitting projects...and the softness of the color purple. I am sure they will look so sweet on Emmy!!

  2. i had to try the plain vest sized up for our little girl and it's a hit! I wish she'd wear it more than just warm days though but "it makes her arms cold!" I love that bonnet!

  4. Your little Emmy is going to be so nice and warm in her beautiful mama knits. I have been going through and cleaning out my book shelves too, it has been a hard thing to depart with so many beloved books, but really, there are too many in the house and it's nice to give them to someone who will read them.

  5. I love your pile of magazines, I do the same thing, buy a magazine or find it at a yard sale, bring it home and put it on a pile to be read, ripped apart, copied into recipe notebooks, etc. Then I forget about them, I go full force into my life and only when I'm forced to stop and look around do I realize I have these piles of treasures! With out hurricane and closings, I'm filling a lot of time going through my huge piles and its so much fun... I read articles, I clip pictures and patterns and pour over all the recipes - what fun!

  8. I have struggled with that in the past too - I have so many magazines with great ideas but then I have to get real and purge what I don't need. It's easier now that I get magazines on my Nook.

Emmy is just adorable! I think I want one of those vests for myself. It would make dressing over the winter so simple!

  11. I love the plain vest pattern. I agree I'd like to see my little lady wearing one every day!

It's so surprising to see Emmy walking - Mira, at 14 mos, is beginning but still likes to keep a hand on the couch while she walks around.
