Hand Sewing

I was asked to come up with a handwork project for our homeschool's craft meeting this Friday and I think I will bring the patterns and supplies to make a simple bird ornament.  I started to play around with some ideas today.

I love that even Abraham,at 4 1/2 years old, was excited to make one and was able to just about finish in one sitting.

Speaking of sewing, I just wanted to share this beautiful trivet that my friend, Renee, sewed from vintage feed sacks.  It graces our dining table.

  4. Oh I am working on craft projects too for our school's advent craft event. I was thinking a white dove but actually a little bird like that would be sweet!

  5. Very cute.... To respond to your previous post. I live alone now, having all my children grown and on their own. I stopped watching T.V. a couple of years ago, although I do watch a movie on DVD from time to time. I am picky about what I set before my eyes or the eyes of my grandchildren when they are visiting. When they are here I try encouraging them to read or color, draw etc. I have some less modern toys for the little ones to play with, which they love,a Noah's Ark being my youngest grandchild,Jaxon's favorite :) Of course I do have a desk top computer which I blog from. I also have a facebook account which I am thinking of deleting,as well as Pinterest. I know I spend to much time on line and try and discipline myself in that area :) I do believe a life of Simplicity is the way to go. I know that has different meanings for different folks though.
