Mini Twig Trees

Several weeks ago we made little leaf felt fairies after reading about how to make them at the blog, Twig and Toadstool.

Since then we haven't found a home for them.   They moved around from window sill and shelf, never finding a comfortable spot, until I decided to make them their own little tree home.

With a birch branch base, I drilled a hole in the middle and added birch twigs for the branches.  Very simple.
As winter approaches, they may look sweet adorned with mini snowflakes, ornaments, or winter fairies.

Warm wishes for a beautiful day.

  1. Very sweet...I had an idea this fall to stick several twigs into a small log-slice base (holes drilled into it) and glue little felt leaves all over it for our nature table...of course I didn't get around to it (the twigs are still on top of the piano!), but plan on doing one for each season. Wool roving would make great foliage too!

  3. Awe, I saw these over on Twig and Toad, but that is such a great idea to put them in trees to change with the seasons! I love it!

  4. Oh, so cute! Love this idea. I'm making tree blocks right now so I may try this soon.

  5. These would be great for the nature table, when our fairies aren't in their little treehouse!

  6. These are so sweet, Tonya! Such festivities to add to any home or nature table. I have made several similar folk over the years, inspired by a book by Sally Mavor called Wee Folk or something like that. They delight all who see them!

  10. Perfect! I've also been toying with seasonal trees for the nature table. I wasn't happy with my autumn tree attempt, but I'll work out the bugs yet. YOUR tree is fabulous. I like that it can be full of felt-leaf-folk for fall, AND bare for the winter table. Well done!
