Sharing Knitting and Reading

We borrowed season 2 of Downton Abbey from the library and have been watching it the last couple of evenings, which has allowed for more knitting.  I finished the vest that I shared last week here - with worsted weight Peace Fleece on size 8 needles it came out to be about a size 4.
I have cast on to knit the Plain Vest after being inspired by Heather.  This yarn was in my stash and I am not sure what it is.  I am hopeful the sizing will come out well to fit Emmy.

Radical is my morning coffee read and is challenging me in many ways.  The author brings up the point about how easily we can fall into doing the easy thing like giving money (sometimes this is the right thing of course),  rather than standing in the trenches, for example.

I just picked up a light Christian fiction read - Abide with Me  - at the library yesterday.  So far an easy read that has drawn me right in - perfect for bedside reading.

Looking forward to all of the sharing today at Ginny's blog - Small Things.

Warm wishes,
Tonya

  6. I read Radical earlier this year with my coffee in the mornings...very good book. Makes me think about missions in an entirely new light. Love that sweet little vest!

  7. Downton season 2 is just airing in Australia (started last week) so I have been enjoying that too! I have radical on my wishlist and look forward to reading it! I love the vests and would like to attempt one myself, but still not too confident on the needles as I usually crochet!

  9. The vest looks lovely. The books you are reading sound interesting too. I will be looking for "Radical." I also love Christian fiction...no embarassing "surprise" scenes and the conflicts are solved with prayer and the word of God. Love it.

  11. Your book choices always intrigue me. And there has been so much talk about Downtown Abby, I should look into see that as well. Love the simplicity of your vest and of course the button.

Love to you all ~ Elizabeth

  13. I have been inspired by you to start one of those cute vests, and to also read Radical. I checked it out last week after I saw you were reading it. It is really interesting so far - I think that my view of church has changed so much over the past few years, and trying to fit in is not always easy for me. This book is definitely challenging! Love it!
