Finished up a doll I made for a neighbor and am now working on some cotton dish cloths and am still waiting inspiration to get started on a bigger project.
I have just started Everlasting Meal by Tamar Adler and am looking forward to reading her viewpoints on cooking healthy with economy and simplicity. Have you read this book? What did you think?
You can join in with Ginny and everyone else today at the Yarn Along.
Tonya, you are going to love An Everlasting Meal; I read it on my Kindle and loved it so much I bought hard copy because I needed to hold those words in my hand!
ReplyDeleteLove the doll....so cute! The books sounds interesting, I may have to check that out.
ReplyDeleteI started Everlasting Meal just before our big temporary move. I brought it with us, but have yet to revisit it. I think I wait because I want to have time to savor her ideas and wisdom.
ReplyDeleteI have seen that book, but haven't read it. Thanks for reminding me I wanted to add it to my library list.
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard of that book but will go order it from the library. Sounds good.
ReplyDeleteI love your sweet little doll and the book I would imagine is a very good read.....blessings
ReplyDeleteOh I am in need of some new dishcloths...it's time. Love your little doll so sweet. That book looks fantastic, I'm going to investigate:)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read it, but it's on my library hold list. Hope it comes in soon. The doll is so cute - love the stripes!
ReplyDeleteThat book has been on my list for a while. I've been working on dishcloths this week too! :)
ReplyDeleteCute doll:) I am going to put that book on my to read list!
ReplyDeleteLove the dish cloths! I'm glad that I am not the only one knitting something a little easier for a change :-) That book is on my request list at the library...along with everyone else in the state of maine I believe. I am really looking forward to reading it, whenever that may be!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute little knit and the dishcloths are always a good pick. I have heard that book is a good one-enjoy!
ReplyDeleteSo funny! I just finished a sweater and started knitting the same basket-weave cotton dishcloths as an "in-between" project to knit in the van. In fact, the blue one there looks just like one I am working on today! Haven't read the book, but it sounds like a good read.
ReplyDeleteSweet adorable doll! I have not read that book but I think I am going to have to snatch it up when I see it!!
ReplyDeleteThe doll is adorable!
ReplyDeleteAnd now I musth find that book...checking to see if it is available at my library! :)
That sounds like an interestig book. Your gnome is so sweet.
ReplyDeleteLove that doll. And some cotton dishcloths are on my to do list. I was noticing the other day how truly nasty ours are. The topic of the book sounds like something I would enjoy. I will have to see if it is available through our library. Blessings ~ Elizabeth
ReplyDeleteYour doll is darling! I'm waiting for inspiration too, though I'm thinking that the Tea Leaves Cardi may be the next big project. Kinda nervous about it though.
ReplyDeleteI just read the book. It was well written, I liked the approach, but didn't find it revolutionary. Of course, all our new food obsessions (local, organic, low in additives) are nothing new, but rather going back to what we always knew! When I read statistics about food waste in America, I believe them. But it has never been true in my house. Last night's leftovers become my lunch, nothing gets shoved to the back of the fridge, lemons get juiced and zested. If I don't use it right away, it goes in the freezer and is there when some bananas are going brown and it's time to make banana bread. Really what she's writing about is common sense for the diligent homemaker.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, check out Blood, Bones and Butter. It's a wonderful (if a bit coarse) memoir of an upcoming female chef whose also a great writer!
ReplyDeleteThe little doll is a cutie.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy those dishcloths - fun to make and use.
