Anticipating

It was a beautiful dry sunny day yesterday, the perfect kind of day to wash and hang some newborn baby clothing.

My eyes welled with tears as I held each little piece, imagining the little one to come, feeling overwhelmed with feelings... feelings of excitement, overwhelming awe, thankfulness, and love.  God is good.

    You are where I was at last year- I so remember hanging out the tiny things in anticipation, after a washing- and they were all white too. Oh, you have a little one coming!

    those feelings came to me, whenever I prepared the bed or basket for the new blessing.

    What a cute picture...the sight of those tiny clothes on the line brought a tear to my eye as well! I know just what you're feeling. Babies are such a blessing!

    Oh, so sweet! James's diapers are in the garage, here in Italy. I still hope I can use them with another baby but time is running against us. A very nice way to spend a sunny, clear day...

    All of my babes were born in late winter/spring...this was by far my most powerful and beautiful ritual: washing and hanging all the newborn clothes, trying to imagine the tininess of the babe to come. Blessings to you and to your family in this sweet time of waiting...
