It was a beautiful dry sunny day yesterday, the perfect kind of day to wash and hang some newborn baby clothing.
My eyes welled with tears as I held each little piece, imagining the little one to come, feeling overwhelmed with feelings... feelings of excitement, overwhelming awe, thankfulness, and love. God is good.
Oh, Tonya, so beautiful and uplifting! Huge hugs!
ReplyDeleteYou are where I was at last year- I so remember hanging out the tiny things in anticipation, after a washing- and they were all white too. Oh, you have a little one coming!
Oh lovely...I'm so excited for you, and can't wait to hear about your birth...

ReplyDeleteOh, so sweet! James's diapers are in the garage, here in Italy. I still hope I can use them with another baby but time is running against us. A very nice way to spend a sunny, clear day...
ReplyDeleteIt's so exciting, our little one is just 2 weeks old. Many blessings and many snuggles.

P.S. I also remember how alive and gloriously strong and able I felt as I birthed each of my three babes. May you find this for yourself this seventh (!) time around.

ReplyDeleteWhat a truly exciting time!
ReplyDeleteAll of my babes were born in late winter/spring...this was by far my most powerful and beautiful ritual: washing and hanging all the newborn clothes, trying to imagine the tininess of the babe to come. Blessings to you and to your family in this sweet time of waiting...
