We went down to central Vermont and camped at a state park for two nights. Both days away were filled with visiting family. A 50th birthday party for Mike's sister on Saturday and then, Sunday, the balloon festival where my father met us to spend father's day and Abby's birthday.
I think the best part about getting away is returning with a renewed enthusiasm and appreciation for the place we call home.
I love camping with family. Sounds like a very nice get-away.
ReplyDeleteCamping is so fun with the kids, but being able to come home and sleep in your own bed is even better! Love the picture, what is your tent connected to?
ReplyDeleteWe ended up putting our tent in the lean-to - kept things dry and off the ground.
DeleteThat really is a good idea.
DeleteOh, I agree! The girls and I had a fabulous weekend at my daughter's new home. We were all sad to leave but the minute we pulled into out own driveway we all said how good it was to be home. Love that word! HOME. :)
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Debbie
You were at the balloon festival and we were just up the hill celebrating our daughter's graduation from the Waldorf School. I put a photo up on my blog of what the balloon festival looked like from our house. So beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh, how nice! and i love that feeling of coming home and feeling so great to be there!
ReplyDeleteI agree. One needs to get away sometimes so that one can come home and see things with slightly new eyes. Pam
