I am joining in this week with Gardenmama to show our new clothesline. There wasn't one on our little homestead when we moved here last July.
Mike used hemlock from our woods to make it and I am excited to be hanging my clothes outside instead of inside now that the weather is nice. The smell of clothes that have been hung out to dry is amazing and the sunshine actually works as a stain remover.
Hanging clothes to dry instead of using a dryer that uses electricity is one simple way to help our earth.
Warm wishes, Tonya

Love hanging clothes outside to dry. I especially love hanging sheets and towels! I'll have to post a photo of my clothesline... my hubby put it up over 25 years ago, it is in cement and one pole has bent over the years til it's halfway to the ground. Quit the sight to see! But, hey, it works!
ReplyDeleteLove your clothes line! And I agree about the sun being a natural stain remover. Works wonders on diapers. Wish it wasn't raining today. I have laundry to do.
ReplyDeleteI love the way your husband made the clothesline! I feel the same way about the freshness of clothes and sheets hanging out to dry. When we hang our clothes out to dry in the sun~it kills all the yeast and anything that might be unhealthy on our clothing. The sun can be a natural healer! When I make the beds with fresh sun dried sheets and pillowcases my family loves the smell of them. To get into bed covered with nice fresh sheets~we all love it. I set up a tiny line for my youngest children and they love hanging their own clothes~mostly doll items or washcloths! Blessings,Rose
ReplyDeleteLove your clothesline. I hang (most) of our clothes outside to dry, love it. And love not using the elecricity. !
ReplyDeleteThat is probably the coolest clothes line I have ever seen. I'm jealous.

That is truly the coolest clothes line I have ever seen. I am holding onto some posts that I would love the Mr. to build me a permanent one. Right now I am settling for my metal one that I can move around the yard. The sun is the perfect stain remover for Junior Mints diapers!
ReplyDeletethat's a great clothesline. You are so right, nothing smells as fresh as clothes right off the line!

ReplyDeleteLove it! We have this huge tree in our backyard that gives us the best shade in the summer. Unfortunately it also means there is no sunshine for a clothesline. :(
ReplyDeleteThat is such a lovely clothesline!
ReplyDeleteOh how I adore your clothesline! That must be such a dream <3
ReplyDeleteYour clothesline looks so strong and beautiful! It is so amazing how the sun works as a natural stain remover. It's pretty amazing. I remember the first time I realized it when hanging out a poop stained diaper. Amazing resources we have for free. We are so lucky!
