Knitting and More Knitting

a garter stitch cardigan, infant size, of Plymouth Yarn, Encore D.K., which is a 75% acrylic and 25% wool, purchased at my local yarn store for $3.90 a skein, so this will be an affordable sweater... the pattern is from one of my three or so knitting books I own, Simple Knits for Cherished Babies

this is a basket weave baby blanket in the same kind of yarn, but worsted weight, using a pattern I jotted down on some scrap paper - very simple

last on my needles is this modern baby bonnet from one of my favorite knitting books, Vintage Knits for Modern Babies, I am using up some cotton yarn I found in my stash

Hmm... it seems that all three projects are for baby....

Joining in with Ginny this week.

  6. That's going to be a well-knit baby. :) I love the cardigan. So sweet! I'm working on a basket-weave blanket right now too. It was a baby blanket size turned afghan for one of my big boys. We'll see how that pattern adjustment works out once I get further on it.

  7. Oh, these baby knits! I wish I had babies to knit for, now that I'm more confident in my knitting. Toddler things take so much longer to make, and baby things are so adorable... xoxo

  16. Sweet, Tonya! I had gotten back to my beginner knitting with a baby in mind. No baby now, but you have me tempted to not abandon the project ideas. They are little and cute and someone would wear them, right?!

  17. Love all those baby knits. I can't get enough of knitting baby things but I am now at an age where it's all for grandchildren, not my own yet, but my partners and the grandchildren of friends. Oh what fun!! All the best for you and your new one on the way.
