Yarn Along

I am joining in with Ginny again this week.
I finished the booties and added needle felted hearts on the tops and cast on to knit a hat for Abraham since we seem to have lost the other hat I knit for him.

I have been flipping through the Tightwad Gazette.  It is a book I look through about once a year to get some more thrify ideas and creative ways to save money.

Warm wishes, Tonya

  2. Oh Tonya, I just love the booties. The needle felted hearts are so precious. I have always wanted to thumb through the Tightwad Gazette. I haven't been able to get it through inter-library loan. I may have to try again.

Hope it has warmed up a bit for you. We have thankfully.

    Blessings, Elizabeth

  4. I love the yarn you are using for Abraham's hat, such a pretty color. You do realize that as soon as you finish this hat the other one will turn up, right?

  7. Love what you are making and made. I hear that the chocolate syrup recipe is really good that in that book. Have been meaning to try it myself. Have you made it?

I've heard so many great things about The Tightwad Gazette. I'll have to find a copy somewhere...wonder how often such a book would show up used??

  15. Adorable booties, they are like little elf boots!
I just checked and our library has this book, I don't know why I never thought to look before, I will try to get it soon.

We have had some extremely cold days too, once the car would not start until 4 in the afternoon, lows near 25 below zero. But hardly any snow!

Thinking of you Tonya, and I think perhaps my last email lost it's way, so I will write soon..

    Warmth and love,
    Renee

  20. Reading the Complete Tightwad Gazette a few years ago really made a big impression on me. It changed the entire way I think about thriftiness, and this change of mindset has helped us through some very lean years financially. I don't think we could survive on our current income, with the spending habits I had in the past.

  21. Hmmm I have lent my Tightwad Gazette to a friend, who has not let me have it back! I must chase it up - I love lots of her ideas, I am a confirmed loo roll squasher and baggy drier!

  23. I wish they yarn-alongs were crochet. Those booties are too cute. Especially with the little hearts added to them. I need to learn to needle felt!

Thank you so much for sharing your life with others.
