I am joining in with Ginny again this week.
I finished the booties and added needle felted hearts on the tops and cast on to knit a hat for Abraham since we seem to have lost the other hat I knit for him.
I have been flipping through the Tightwad Gazette. It is a book I look through about once a year to get some more thrify ideas and creative ways to save money.
Warm wishes, Tonya
What sweet little booties!! Love the hearts.
ReplyDeleteOh Tonya, I just love the booties. The needle felted hearts are so precious. I have always wanted to thumb through the Tightwad Gazette. I haven't been able to get it through inter-library loan. I may have to try again.
ReplyDeleteHope it has warmed up a bit for you. We have thankfully.
Blessings, Elizabeth
I love the Tightwad Gazette; it has some wonderful ideas. I think I need to pull my copy off the shelf for some inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI love the yarn you are using for Abraham's hat, such a pretty color. You do realize that as soon as you finish this hat the other one will turn up, right?
ReplyDeleteThose booties are so cute!
ReplyDeleteI forgot all about the Tightwad Gazette. Thanks for the reminder. Cute booties too!
ReplyDeletePeace, Angela
too cute x
ReplyDeleteI just love the phrase "cast on," it makes knitting sound exciting and magical.
ReplyDeleteLove what you are making and made. I hear that the chocolate syrup recipe is really good that in that book. Have been meaning to try it myself. Have you made it?

Your hearts complete the booties so beautifully. Love your handwork!
ReplyDeleteI also like to do a Tightwad Gazette "refresher" from time to time. Love the cute booties!
ReplyDeleteI think my husband might like to thumb through that book - he loves inspiration like that. I just love your bootees and boys can never have too many hats.

The booties look fantastic! Those needle felted hearts are such a beautiful addition!
ReplyDeleteI've heard so many great things about The Tightwad Gazette. I'll have to find a copy somewhere...wonder how often such a book would show up used??
The booties came out so cuuuuute! I have the collection of the Gazette and I enjoy reading it a few times a year....inspiring!
ReplyDeleteOh those little booties are even more adorable this week with the little needle felted hearts :) So cute!
ReplyDeleteThose little booties warm my heart just looking at them and I'm certain the toes inside will be nice and toasty!
ReplyDeleteAdorable booties, they are like little elf boots!
ReplyDeleteI just checked and our library has this book, I don't know why I never thought to look before, I will try to get it soon.
We have had some extremely cold days too, once the car would not start until 4 in the afternoon, lows near 25 below zero. But hardly any snow!
Thinking of you Tonya, and I think perhaps my last email lost it's way, so I will write soon..
Warmth and love,
Renee

ReplyDeletenew to your blog, and it is wonderful to meet you here. i am going to visit your etsy shop next. have a great weekend and stay warm!
Reading the Complete Tightwad Gazette a few years ago really made a big impression on me. It changed the entire way I think about thriftiness, and this change of mindset has helped us through some very lean years financially. I don't think we could survive on our current income, with the spending habits I had in the past.
ReplyDeleteHmmm I have lent my Tightwad Gazette to a friend, who has not let me have it back! I must chase it up - I love lots of her ideas, I am a confirmed loo roll squasher and baggy drier!
ReplyDeleteThose booties are just adorable! I'm going to have to check out the tightwad gazette, sounds great.
ReplyDelete:-)
I wish they yarn-alongs were crochet. Those booties are too cute. Especially with the little hearts added to them. I need to learn to needle felt!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your life with others.
