Making with Birch Bark

After birch logs have sat for awhile - say months - the bark gets very easy to peel.  This is actually bark from the gray birch tree.

We made heart garlands and star ornaments.

  1. I love how you take the resources right outside your home and turn them into something even more lovely.

  2. Oh, this is clever. I have birch branches that I brought to PA from CT the last time we visited my inlaws. They are just now starting to peel & I think we will use your idea for making gift tags & ornaments for our family. Thanks for the idea.

  4. Those are so beautiful! We don't have many birch trees in this part of Missouri, but I'll be keeping a look out for some now. :)

Happy Thanksgiving to your dear family.
