With the last few days being rainy and raw, I have been busy making - crocheting water bottle covers, knitting gnomes and dolls and mixing up laundry detergent and bugs spray.
Tonya, would you mind sharing your bug spray recipe? We have been using cedar oil, but I would love to try something else. With the warm winter we had the bugs down here have been just terrible.
Oh I have been busy myself, making a smock from the Childrens Year, always the laundry detergent, I've also started making dishwasher powder as well. What recipe do you use for bug spray?
Tonya, I love "Make Your Place!" Other than the gardens, I've been making summer clothing, pillowcases, and I have a list of household things to do: a new shower curtain, wipes, and potholders. :)
I just made a new batch of laundry soap and it's being put to good use. I also just finished knitting a baby sweater...and am now working on the matching hat! :)
I have been making our new home 'homely', we are finally unpacked and are starting to feel more comfortable here - things are settling into a rhythm. Made some delicious artichoke fritters for lunch and am halfway through knitting my little katie a horse for her third birthday next week (must get on with it!!) Must try to make my own laundry powder xx
I enjoy so much and look forward each time to read your blog, that on my first blog anniversary I'm passing a little sunshine your way. I'm nominating you for the Versatile Blogger Award! NaturallyFunDays.wordpress.com
Sounds wonderful! I've been making tiny NB diapers for this little one I'm making in my womb. :) I really need to make my son the requested waldorf doll for his birthday, but it seems Spring has taken off with us and we are running to keep up with all the activity. So, I'm hoping for a breather soon so I can get busy on that doll, and then get back to tiny baby sewing. :)

ReplyDeleteHi Tracey,
DeleteI am going to be writing up a post on the bug spray in the next couple of days.
Thanks so much, Tonya
My 3yr old sister loves her gnome that I made her from your pattern! She asks me every time I pull out my needles if I'm going to make her another. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful week!
Mary
Even after making them for almost 12 years, I still enjoy knitting another one - thanks for sharing.

I'm also curious about the bug spray. We usually use lavender and/or lemongrass oil.
ReplyDeleteI'm making larabars, salt scrub, and bath salts for a birthday gift. And working on finishing up a boy's b-day sweater as well.
Would love to know your recipe for laundry detergent. Thanks for the post.
ReplyDeleteI have just started making my orange cleaner. Looking forward to using it this weekend when it is ready.
ReplyDeletem.
Such sweet little knit toys!
ReplyDeleteI love that little book. I'll have to check out the bug spray recipe. It is coming on that time isn't it?...
