Knitting Pink

I am still working on Emmy's spring sweater - just about ready to do the decreases to work each side.
Again, the pattern is from Vintage Knits for Modern Babies and it is the Anya's Cardigan.  I decided to make the largest size, 12 - 24 months and I am using straight size 5 needles with dk baby yarn in soft pink.

Still reading - at over 700 pages and only reading before sleep this could take some time - but really enjoying Into the Wilderness.
Our before bedtime story with some of the children is now Tumtum and Nutmeg.  This is the first book of the series.  We actually read the second, first, but it really didn't matter.  Sarah and Abraham enjoy listening to me read it to them, and Abby quickly read the whole book herself.

Is anyone working on any small Easter knitting or crocheting projects?  I am looking for some ideas.

Warm wishes,
Tonya

  1. Tonya, I have recently been reading the 'Into the Wilderness' series too. I am enjoying it too but it is also taking me some time to get through them. I am on the 4th book right now. Love me some Nathanial!

Thank you for posting Tumtum and Nugmeg, I wanted to get that for the wee one here and had forgotten about it.
Have a lovely yarn along day.

  3. You know I almost never comment on your knitting posts - I don't knit. Well, I suppose I have tried, and can knit about like when I say "hola" I'm speaking Spanish. But your projects are really cool, and I enjoy seeing them!

  9. Tonya...My little girl would just love that sweater because of the pink! I am so happy to learn about more reading books for my little ones. How old are Sarah and Abraham? Forrest is 6.5 yrs and Sunshine is 3.5 yrs so I'm thinking this would be really age appropriate for them? Have a great rest of your week, Tonya!

  10. I'm not doing any Easter knitting or crocheting this year, but last year I made each of my girls lacy Easter dresses and my son a vest. It was a bit of a scramble to have them done by Easter morning, but it was a lot of fun too! Maybe you could make some flowers for Easter hats?

  11. Well I just finished my crocheted lace gloves, which are planned for my Easter Sunday outfit :) Does that count?
    The spring sweater looks lovely!

  12. I am knitting some eggs and gnomes for an Easter swap. I think knitting some flowers like someone suggested would be cool. You could make a little brooch for a girls dress, or attach some to a headband or ribbon for her hair or to attach to the handle of an Easter basket or to make a nature table or dinning room table bloom for the season. So many fun spring time ideas. Nice sweater. I miss pink.

  13. I am participating in a Spring Reading Challenge and Into the Wilderness is one of the books on my list! I have only ever heard wonderful things about it and am really looking forward to reading it! Tumtum and Nutmeg is a book I have been wanting to get and read with my kids. Hmm...might have to slip it in an Easter basket! :)
