Joining in with Ginny, of Small Things this week.
I finished the knit infant pants from Vintage Knits for Modern Babies. These were so simple to knit up on two needles. I used Plymouth worsted weight yarn in a wool blend.
I am reading Anne of Green Gables for the first time! And I am enjoying it so. What a wonderful book to read aloud to your family or to just enjoy some good quality light summer reading.
I love them! They are so so so soft looking... great job! Can you believe I have never read Anne of Green Gables either? I could just never get into it.
ReplyDeletelove these little pants!! So cute!!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorite books!
ReplyDeleteThose pants are so very cute! How wonderful that you found your way to the Anne books =) I read them for the first time when I was a little girl and I have been reading them a couple of times since then. They're so lovely!
ReplyDeleteWhat cute baby pants! I wish I had been a more avid knitter when my daughter was little -- fortunately there are a lot of great things to knit for older girls, too!
ReplyDeleteThe PBS movies are great, too! You can reward yourself and knit and watch some evening after you're done reading!
ReplyDeleteTonya, Anne of Green Gables is one of our longtime favorites! I love the sweet baby pants. :) The color is perfect!
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed your blog for quite a while without commenting...but Anne of Green Gables...I just had to. The whole series is family friendly, as are her other series (Emily of New Moon, and Mistress Pat) and because of their age, they are easily available at used book sales for a steal (at least here in Canada). It's nice to see these treasures still being enjoyed.
ReplyDeleteThe first time?! Well, you're going to love, how could you not!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the book (the whole series,really... and if you like it, try LM Montgomery's other writing... it's all great!) I'm on a current hunt to find all the Anne books in hardcover for my permanent collection.
ReplyDeleteI am re-reading Anne of Green Gables! It is so wonderful... you will love it!
ReplyDeleteJust read Anne of Green Gables aloud to my daughters and we LOVED every page!
ReplyDeleteLove those pants!
ReplyDeleteThe FIRST time?? You'll love all of the Anne books. She is one of my most favourite authors ever. The Emily series is actually my favourite, so check those out too!
Oh my goodness! Anne of Green Gables is one of my favorite books. I think you're going to love the whole series.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorites-- SUCH a good book!!!! Glad you're enjoying it!
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have always read a lot together... before we were married, I tried to read the first Anne book to him, and he fell asleep before the third page... whoops :-)
Lovely pants! Happy summer!
I knitted a similar pair for one of my babies. They were pink and white stripes, purely because that's what I had in my stash. I felt quite sad when she grew out of them. Embarressed to say that I have never read Ann of Green Gables. Really should put that right!
ReplyDeleteLove those pants. Anne of Green Gables was an all time favourite of my daughters when they were young.A lovely book!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! I LOVE Anne :)
ReplyDeleteHappy day to you
Jen
Dear Tonya,
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet pants! I really have to unpack my knitting needles. :) I've made "sweater pants" before, but knitting them would be nice, too.
Anne of Green Gables is sooo wonderful, isn't it? The way she describes nature and all the little foibles of people is just perfect. I love Anne of Ingleside, too (I haven't read the others yet, but they're on my wish list!).
Love,
Marqueta
This is such a sweet picture! I think it might have inspired me to make some pants to go with the sweater I am knitting a friend's new baby boy! There is such beauty in such small things :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're enjoying Anne of Green Gables - such a beautiful story!
ReplyDeleteI have never read it either. I have picked it up at the store several times recently (to do as a read aloud) but it never seems to get checked out or bought...
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be reading Anne of Green Gables for the first time. It is definitely one of my favorite books. I have not yet read it with the girls but I so look forward to it someday!
ReplyDeleteChloe's middle name is Anne with an "e".
I hope you have been well Tonya. Your recent posts have been full of such beauty and sweetness.
Our girls sure are all close in age. Chloe will be eleven soon too!
Happy summer days to you and your wonderful family Tonya!
What cute, sweet baby pants! I've always wanted to knit up some pants for my littles, but never seem to find the time between all the other projects that I have on the go. Well done!
ReplyDeleteHello dear Tonya
ReplyDeleteI too am in the process of knitting a pair of baby pants. Looks like a similar pattern to mine. My niece has her baby on Tuesday and I cannot contain my excitment. I have knitted beanies, pants and next is a little cardigan. I marvel at how small these items are. You must be looking forward to your little one..Please send me a message with your address on. I would love to send a gift. suzane@mweb.co.za is my email. Stay well Tonya and I am so happy to see your space is warmer outside.
Love to you
Suzanne

Your strawberry patch sounds like ours!
ReplyDeleteThose baby pants are so cute and they look so comfortable. Too bad they don't make them for adults. ;) Anne of Green Gables is one of our favorite read a loud books. I'm so glad you are enjoying it.
