A little hand stitched heart will be mailed along with each newsletter that my daughters and I sewed.
One of the goals of the newsletter is to keep the art of handwriting alive. As more and more people and children type (even in the grammar schools!) instead of taking pen to paper handwriting may become a lost art. Our other mission is to spread the word that there are alternatives to the consumer-driven lifestyle of our country and increasingly the world. Finally, the newsletter reflects on the joys of homemaking.
To subscribe via a check or money order please email me at naturalearthfarm@netzero.net for my mailing address. Please, if there is a financial hardship let me know in an email or letter and we can offer assistance. Or you can order by clicking on the buy now buttons on the right side bar.
Warm wishes, Tonya

HI Tonya,
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to get mine and I will blog about it, one way to increase readership:-)
Peace,
Suzanne
It is such a beautiful way of fostering community Tonya. I share in your appreciation of handwritten letters. I look forward to your newsletter and sharing this link on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI subscribed today and am anticipating its arrival. The cover looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteOK, I really need to subscribe. I've been wanting to for a while, but after reading your story in the last two posts, I simply must. I spent some time in Western MA and the Boston area as well, though I'm not sure our time there overlaped. (I'd have to go back and read more closely to be sure.) I was at Mount Holyoke College from 1988 - 1992 and continued to live in the Pioneer Valley 5-college area for another year after that. (Were you in the PV or elsewhere?) Then I moved to Boston and lived there -- getting married during that time -- until moving to Michigan (where I grew up) in 1997. I actually *worked* at a mall while living in Boston, so I smiled at your mall reference. I very seldom go to a mall today.
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if you would mail to Australia. It looks so lovely.
ReplyDeleteBlessings
I've subscribed as well! Thanks for offering this... can't wait to sit down with a hot cup of tea and read it!

Another question from overseas: Tonya, would you mail to Germany?
ReplyDeleteI just read your reports on your journey to your homestead and it´s just wonderful! So, you lived totally without electricity in your RV? Wow! Did you blog at that time- and if so, how? And where did you do the woodwork for your shop (in summer you can work outside, but in winter?)? How did you heat in winter? Gas?
Many questions- just curious. I lived together with my (now: former)boyfriend in a RV on a Demeter (antroposophical-organic) farm for a while, but we did have solar panels on the roof of the RV, so just had to use electricity "wisely" (we did not use the built-in refrigerator in summer, as we just bought locally what could be stored easily or eaten soon or what kept well. Also we did not use electric lights very often, just went to bed when it got dark;-). We mostly used electricity for the b water-pump to get water from the RV-tank)- Also wise usage of water (We could get it from a big water-tap belonging to the farm and carry the canister or use the roll-car used for the huge milk-cans for transporting them, then had to fill our RV-tank with it and use the septic tank of the farm for our waste water from the bathroom- also carry it there).
I really enjoyed this kindd of life and did not miss anything, just felt sooo connected to nature (and the farmlife) and its rhythms... And we had a great view as well!
I really like your view and your persistence in pursuing your dream and changing your lifes and would like to get back to such a kind of life, close to nature and simple, once again...
I would happily mail to Germany.
ReplyDeleteAlso, we lived in a mobile home, which here in the states, is a large pre-fabricated home - the one we bought was a 1984. We put a woodstove in it for heat (went 100% by the regulations and bought the really good piping, etc..)
Warm wishes,
Tonya
Dear Tonya,
ReplyDeleteI am wondering if you are able to send to Australia too?

Tonya,
ReplyDeleteI agree about the art of handwriting being so important. We really enjoy our handwriting and copy-work time in this home. I can't wait to subscribe to your newsletter! I'm going to do it right now.
God bless you and yours,
Nicole

Warm wishes,

What a great thing to do and share.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's parents homesteaded in Eastern Canada in the early 70's and did the same thing. We still have copies of their hand-illustrated newsletters.
Do you mail out sample copies? I would like to have one to show my husband.
