Before and After

Our local hardware store had a special on barn red paint (just $16.00/gallon) so we gave our barn and chicken coop a $48.00 face lift.

Before...

and After

and the little chicken coop painted to match.

Our family has had to work on our home and outbuildings step by step frugally, often making do with what we have and keeping our eyes out for freebies and sales.  It is amazing just what a coat of paint will do.
This little chicken coop we found for free on the side of the road a few years ago.

Warm wishes, Tonya

  7. WoW looks wonderful! amazing what paint does, looks like brand new. We're hoping to get our outbuilding painted one summer( maybe we'll find a deal on paints too*wink*)Then we'll need to find the time to paint them.

BTW, have you mailed out all of the newsletters? If so we didn't get ours again. We've been anxiously awaiting it's arrival :o)

I so appriciate that your family shows what patience and good hard work can do in our society where intant gratification is rampant! Thanks for letting us be a part of it all!

  23. gorgeous! Our coop was an old storage shed...covered with peeling chipboard. I went to my grammas farm and we got some wood from one of the barns that was falling down...now our coop is lovingly covered in barnboard, and my goodness...does it look good!
(I even took an old pair of deer antlers that were at grammas farm for over the coop doors)!
That red paint just looks grand! Lucky chickens! Red is supposed to be related to prosperity...maybe it will inspire some extra eggs!!??

  28. Wow- that looks great!! Me and my DH have recently moved into a place that needs a bit of TLC too, and we're having to to it bit by bit, stage by stage as we can afford it. I was very excited today to find some cheap flooring to go in our bathroom- yay!! DH is going to start laying it tomorrow. It's going to work out at under £10 for the whole floor- woop woop!! :)
