Hot, Hot, Hot

....but I am not complaining, no, we get very few days like these so no complaining is allowed.

So what do we do when it gets really hot?

Get motivated enough to make screens for the older french style windows that have heavy wooden storms without any screens.

Mike used some left over wood scraps and a roll of screen that was left here when we moved in.
Nothing fancy, but oh, to have more air flowing through our home.

Visit a craft and music fair and spend most of the time under the mist from the fountain.

Wash wool outside... the chicken is finding the wash tub handy for taking a drink from.

Play in our well's overflow water.

Stay comfortable and as cool as possible during these hot days but remember to enjoy the moments as well.

Warm wishes, Tonya

  1. You have a positive attitude to too much heat. I have the worst time in it, and it's always a struggle to adjust my perspective. That is one cool chicken. Kudos to you all for making screens in the heat. I love the photo of the kiddos playing in the overflow water. That sounds like a perfect solution to keeping cool.

  2. I love the color of your house. The image of your view through the new screen is lovely! We have many hot days in our part of the world but lots of shade too so it is nice.

  3. Yes yes...we are feeling hot too. We went from cool mountain air, to 104 degree humidity. Ick. BUT, like you said, finding some sticky moments to enjoy.

  4. Stay cool up there! I hear you're getting heat as bad as ours, but of course, everything's air conditioned down here. You have the best attitude. :)

  5. The screens are very nice! Your honey did a great job! Sounds like you are making the most of hot weather your way . Here in the south we stay at high 90's until a lot of times Sept.So we have high electric bills, Your children look content so they are probably enjoying running around outside and playing. The view out your window is just lovely. The color of your home is my favorite color. God Bless You and your family.
