An Autumn Feel to the Air

Yesterday it most certainly felt like autumn.  I don't think the temperature went above 60 degrees.

It is truly rewarding harvesting from the garden with children.  Their excitement when they spot another orange pumpkin or Canada Crookneck squash....

The goats are doing well - just  not sure about breeding them yet.  We don't have a buck and we  haven't found a buck to borrow either.  But even if they don't get bred this year, we have two wonderful girls that are providing us with some terrific fertilizer.

It was cool enough yesterday to put a hand knit bonnet on Emmy - this one of baby alpaca.

Warm wishes,
Tonya

  1. Although we are still in the mid 80's during the day our mornings are now a lot cooler. I can not wait until sweater weather reaches the south! My children have been asking for pumpkin pudding for breakfast so it won't be long.

  2. It's getting to feel like fall out west too...we're still having warm sunny days, but the mornings and evenings are distinctly chilly. I don't mind; I love autumn, and harvest time is so satisfying.

  4. Dear Tonya, it really was a glorious fall day yesterday!
What beautiful vegetables- so glad your squash grew so nicely (We lost alllll of ours!)! Emmy looks darling in her woolies. One of the many lovely things about chillier weather!

  6. It finally feels a bit fallish (at least in the morning) we're still in the low 80's in the afternoon. I look forward to being able to wear sweaters and having soup!

Your veggies look great! I envy you your squash. I had a bad summer for squash - I think I got two from 8 plants!
