Another infant wool vest for our shop
After supper last night, Abby and I sewed up this little rag doll. It was so nice to work together. She is 10 years old and she would stuff and braid and help cut the pieces. She has begun to use the sewing machine as well. We purchased it as a kit. Very simple. It makes me eager to try our skills at more - like this one .
Good thing we have lots of winter left.
Warm wishes,
Tonya
It looks almost like an Amish doll since it hasn't a face (yet?)
ReplyDeletei love this time of year too...the cold just calls for indoor handwork and long evenings of creating.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to you and your beautiful family in 2011 Tonya! xx
Oh I just love the wooden buttons on the vest. I finished a similar vest for Rebekah's birthday in a couple of weeks. And the doll is just beautiful. May I ask were you purchaed the kit? I think my Hannah also 10 would love this as a mother daughter project.
ReplyDeleteI agree this is a wonderful time of year to work on handwork. Evening spent in front of the wood stove with a cup of tea and my knitting are some of my favorite.
Blessings, Elizabeth

I love that little doll...the fabric of her dress is so pretty! What a nice project to work on with your daughter. I am just about to make a quilted pillow with my daughter to match her bedroom, and I'm looking forward to having that time to do some sewing together.
