Skating and Christmas Preparing

Yesterday was our first day out on the pond... so much excitement and fun.  Last night the children headed out on the ice after supper.  We discovered a flood light that shines on the pond. What a wonderful blessing.

Daily, little holiday preparations take place... (most of our holiday orders have been filled and shipped - which is such a great feeling)

stringing cranberries and popcorn

baking for friends and neighbors - this is a batch of cranberry, oat, walnut, with white chocolate chips cookies

There is a nice relaxed feeling as we prepare for the coming week of celebration.
Warm wishes,
Tonya

(The honey giveaway below, will close at 7:00 pm tonight.  I will announce the winner then.)

  2. Tonya, it sounds so lovely over there. Such a treat to have a pond to skate on after dinner. That is one of my favourite things! Happy weekend to you!

  3. I'm so happy for you that you have a nice relaxed feeling...I myself am feeling rather the opposite right now--only a week until Christmas and I still have so much to do! Next year I am definitely going to follow your example Tonya, and start making gifts in the summer time!

  7. Oh I would love to go for a skate on a pond! When we lived in Connecticut years ago, my husband and I owned skates and used to go down to the outdoor rink just a few blocks away. There was usually just us (stumbling more than skating) and a very elegant older man who skated nonchalantly around with his hands behind his back!
