Haven't had to fire up the woodstove or fireplaces yet, but m feet are chilly in the morning:-) We are just in the school groove right now, so lessons during the morn and reading in the afternoon and outside play:-)
We're coming inside too - We haven't turned the heat on yet - and the mornings are definitely chilly...
it's becoming easier to eat earlier and go to sleep earlier. Have not lit the fire yet. The mornings are so crisp and energizing despite the darkness outside.
Lovely. I do hope that someday I will be able to experience the joy of starting up the first fire in the woodstove in Autumn...we live in a townhouse right now with baseboard heaters, which isn't quite as much fun. :)With the coming of Fall, and the start up of homeschool lessons again, our days have become more ordered, which is a very positive thing. So much more gets done when we have at least a loose schedule to follow every day. I really enjoy the return to order that Fall brings.
We are so enjoying the warming up of our season here in the south:) We are no longer lighting fires in our fireplaces and we are also able to wear short sleeve T-shirts and don't feel frozen:) It is so wonderful to see all the blossoms on our fruit trees.Enjoy your transition to Autumn.xoLinda
TonyaHere spring is comingMy little baby is sick with temperature changes. Very hot in the afternoon, wind, cold in the evenings and mornings.Greetings from Chile
It's our first winter in our new home and we have a log burning stove!! So excited, can't wait to use it. My parents have recently had to cut down a tree and are saving the logs for us. Can't wait for cosy evenings in :)
We love Autumn because it's the time we start using our wood cookstove. Oh! the smell of woodsmoke in the air and the bone warming heat on a chilly Autumn evening. :o) Blessing to your family,Kelle and Cortney
Autumn is my absolute favourite! We actually just turned off our air conditioning, are loving the break from the 40degreesC heat, and have been keeping all the windows open to enjoy the fresh and cooling air. It's also my sort, clean, and organize time - moreso than the spring. I just loving settling in to the winter with a clean, de-cluttered home.Keep Cozy :)
We've had fires in the morning- we're closing our windows at night and for most of the day too! We're also turning on the light for the chickens. :) I so love this time of year!!!
i know autumn is right around the corner when i have to pull on the wool slippers!!!
Autumn is a time of rejuvenation for me, a time of renewed energy and joy... a fresh start every year: back to my women's Bible study class, crisp breezes, pumpkins and corn stalks and sweaters and boots.
...a huge pile of summer clothes on the attic steps....
We have used our woodstove just once so far...I am looking forward to more fires the fall. It is our only source for heat, so it is kept going most of the day. I love this time of year! :)Blessings!~Nadine
so lovely - that bread looks delicious! it was chilly this morning!!!
I thought about our woodstove for the first time this past weekend...how it has crept up on us so quickly. :)Lisa
Our seasons will be changing soon, too. The apple orchards are just starting to open up here - a sure sign that fall is upon us.I really enjoyed visiting your blog this evening.
Our children are grown now, but I have fond memories of homeschooling them on our farm. It was great to be able to work, learn and play together every day :-)
