New from our Handwork Shop and a Giveaway

We have created a new toy - a birch branch ribbon runner and would like to share two of these with one of our blog readers. Children love to run with these watching the ribbons flow in the wind behind them. When not in use they look lovely hung on a wall.

To enter the giveaway, simply leave a comment and I will choose a number randomly. The drawing will be Sunday evening at 7:00 pm EST.

Warm wishes,

  2. oh yes please...enter me into this lovely giveaway! I had a plan to make something like this as a party favour for my daughters "rainbow" birthday which is coming up soon, (I was going to use hoops and ribbon)! These are lovely though...I may have to rethink my plan!

  3. looks beautiful! the solid piece of wood would be wonderful - I've made one before with a piece of raffia for basket making and it was not nearly so sturdy and lovely. thank you!

  26. Oh what a creative toy! I have a little girl (and possibly her big brother as well) who would love to run around with a ribbon runner.

I also want you to know that your blog was part of the inspiration for us to purchase a house out in the country that we will be gutting and renovating to move into ASAP. We also have chick arriving next week. These are exciting and slightly scary steps for this city gal to have a more simple life:)

You can see pictures of our house and property on my blog :http://sarahlscott.blogspot.com/2010/04/well-yesterday-i-mentioned-that-i-would.html

  28. I love how simple and beautiful this is...no doubt it would get a lot of use in our home. I was just wondering about how to make something like this for my daughter who loves braiding her doll's hair at night (so often a big production with clips and brushes and the big light on)...yet braiding is so relaxing for her. I thought something a bit simpler for her to braid and unbraid before she drifts off to sleep at night.
    Thanks for the sweet giveaway!
    Blessings...
