Happy October Give Away

To welcome in October, I am offering one of these pumpkin beeswax candles to the lucky winner.

These are handmade by a farm just a few miles from our homestead.

Beeswax candles burn clean, actually helping to purify the air and they smell wonderful.

To enter, please just leave a comment about what special plans you have for this glorious month and I will draw a number at random on Sunday evening at 6:00 pm EST.

Warm wishes,

Tonya

  1. We LOVE beeswax candles! We'd love to enter. Our autumn tradition is to go to the park and catch falling leaves. It's an old family tradition... with each leaf you catch, you can make a wish for the coming year. I just love to watch my kids trying with all their might to get just one wish!
    Blessings and magic.

  2. Hmm. For this month I am planning on finishing up a prayer shawl i am crocheting. I am working on some handmade gifts for Christmas. And working on some aprons I started over the summer. Kind of taking it easy as both my knees have really been bothering me the past week or so.

  5. That's a beautiful beeswax candle - what a gorgeous mold they've used. October here is spring - so we are decorating the house with light and pretty, and starting to work on Christmas decorations and presents. And making some Halloween decorations - a bit incongruous, the orange and black, with the pink and pale green :-)

  6. There's lots of things left that I'd like to get done this month, including apple picking and walks in the woods to collect leaves and other bits of God's wonderful creation. But the best thing we are doing is happening tomorrow. We are going to a local nature center's "Open House Tour" where the highlights will be seeing 100+ handmade gnome and fairy houses set along a 1/2 mile stroll through the woods. There will also be a "meet and greet" with Tracy Kane, the award winning author of the Fairy House Series books. We are so looking forward to this.

The pumpkin beeswax candle is so cute. Thank you for the chance to win one.

  10. I love reading about what people are doing during the fall. It's my favorite season so we'll be doing some pumpkin carving, walking through leaves, drinking cider and snuggling on the couch. We went apple picking last month and it was really fun.

  12. Our family (2 parents, 13 children) spends October/November preparing for a homegrown, made-from-scratch Thanksgiving. We press our own cider each year along with making the usual breads, cakes, apple butter and pies. This year, however, we are making ketchup, feta cheese and root beer. I'm not quite sure how to incorporate ketchup and feta cheese into a traditional Thanksgiving except to just go untraditional!

  17. Special plans for this month? Well...I'm not really supposed to say anything yet but...we're signing on our first home tomorrow! I'd say that's about as special as this month is going to get. We'll start working on it, cleaning and fixing it up this weekend. Nothing is more exciting!

  18. I live in Florida so everything stays green in October, we get a few nights of cool air but there is a warm spell that is suppose to last a few weeks. I bought two pumpkins around Sept 20th, got home and the kids ask why I bought pumpkins. I said for Halloween. I thought it was the end of October, not Sept. With no real seasons it is hard to tell. We all got a good chuckle and Carved the pumpkins anyway.
This month is homecoming month. My daughter is a cheerleader and President of her class so we are eating and breathing everything homecoming.
I know I missed the deadline but I still wanted to post a comment as I love beeswax.
