She had a broken leg too, which meant she couldn't fly. She was flapping madly but couldn't leave the ground.<br /><br />Hadn't we come along, a domestic dog would have gotten her as there was one roaming the street. She's being rehabilitated by a wildlife carer in the area now. The injury looked really gory though.<br /><br />If your duck is a domestic one, then it will probably live a long life with your protection. A broken leg for a wild duck however, generally means a death sentence.
