Happy Mothers Day

Well we woke up to this again...

Which made me extra thankful my family had given me these.....

We don't have any big plans today, I simply am going to make sure to take time to think about my mother and call her to let her know how much I appreciate her. I am also going to make sure I privately tell each of my children how much I love being their Mom.
Here is a poem from a small book that a friend loaned to me on Friday. The book is titled Good Mother, Welcome and it is by Ingrid Goff-Maidoff.
As mothers
we pray
for a world of peace.
We pray for a world of joy.
We pray for the nourishment
and safety of our children.
We pray for wonder, enthusiasm,
goodness and truth,
for compassion, love and kindness...
We pray for discipline.
We pray for maturity.
We pray for courage and strength.

And we give thanks.
The way we live is the way we give thanks.

Our life is a dance of prayer and thanksgiving.

Happy Mothers Day.

Warm wishes, Tonya

  2. LOL, the snow you woke up to is the snow I woke up to a couple of days ago. :)

What a nice idea to tell each of your children why you love being their mother. I am going to do that today, too!

  3. This is really beautiful Tonya, thank you for sharing this. At the end of the day when I tuck my kids into bed I ask them "what was your favorite part of your day?" I ask them "Do you know what my favorite part of my day was?" "Being your mama" now I just ask and they respond for me : ) When you wrote you were going to tell each child how much you love being their mom it made me think of this. I love that Tonya, this feels like the way mother's day should be celebrated : ) xoxo

  6. Happy Mother's Day to you. That snow is impressive! We had a moment of sleet this morning in the Berkshires, and otherwise just cold wind.

  15. There are some areas that just can't seem to get rid of the snow. It was pretty cool today here also.
